Week 5 Setbacks

kwilllia 2016-2017 AFRL Thermal Orientation Test Bed

With the onset of midterms this week, our team worked on what we could to make progress on the project. The manufacturing team has been researching vacuum compatibility for some of our parts along with designing mounts that will help the overall safety and functionality of the machine. Unfortunately, we had a failure on the electrical side of things which will cause a setback. Our controls team was trying to install an emergency shutoff system. However during this time, one of our limit switches broke which sets back the testing and progress of the testbed. While this may be the case the team can hopefully find ways to make more progress in other areas of the test bed including manufacturing. Moving forward, we look to have more parts made and hope to resolve issue with broken parts. The image shows the labview code that had been developed for the testbed safety
