For week 8, we are ordering all the parts in order to prepare an assembly for the mechanism and mount.

For the airplane mechanism, the preliminary design is finished, but until the parts come in and the casing is designed, the design can’t be scaled appropriately yet. The motor and bearings are purchased, and the ESC needs to be purchased.

The airplane mount has been 3D printed, and now we are in the process of buying the linear shaft and springs in order to allow the vertical motion. We’re running into purchasing issues such as distance and time.

The next phase is to assemble the mechanism and have it oscillate successfully at our desired frequency, and then implement that into the plane. This includes the ESC and coding a mini-experiment to test if the mechanism is a viable design.
