Manufacture Team for Rocket Engine Development has completed the rocket stand., which could withstand 1000 lb of thrust from the rocket engine’s combustion. The challenge set by the Manufacturing Team was to build the stand from the CAD model made by Stand Team in Winter 2016, and to machine the rocket. We are manufacturing the stand by cutting, welding, drilling and grinding the parts needed to make the stand as designed by Stand Team. As for machining the rocket, Mark Steinborn in the physical science machine shop is helping us with procedures like drilling a hole in the dome and etching a groove into the combustion chamber for the snap ring, which helps keeping the nozzle in place.
