During Week 7, the Flow Team for Rocket Engine Development created their final fuel grain. The labs in Engineering Tower kindly allowed the team to mix and quench the fuel grain components. After two quarters of research the Flow Team decided on a composition of Carbon Black, Aluminum Powder, HTPB, IDP(HTPB catalyst) and Paraffin wax. After hours of melting, measuring, and mixing, the team successfully molded the liquid into the combustion chamber. The fuel grain was then quenched in an ice bath, resulting in a cylindrical fuel grain with a uniform distribution of the components.
