Although this week was one of our less eventful weeks thus far, we still conducted some minor research and worked on some other tasks.
We reached out to a professor for some information on water quality and water filtration, in addition to reaching out to the Irvine Ranch Water District to ask for a tour around the facility. We realized that we may have to be a little more forward to get a response from professors; for example, showing up to their office hours and politely asking them for some information.
We also began planning out a potential prototype we could build which would help us visualize water flow through our eventual creation. This would consist of a small hand pump and small-scale filters in jugs.
For the actual design, we have found a cheap solar pump as well as some cheap Arduino sensors that we may consider buying soon.
With the design review creeping around the corner, we have a lot of work to do, including getting started on our poster design and coming up with some presentable concept designs.
