Hi readers, this is Ethan with our fifth progress blog on the X-Fade Flight Simulator. This week, we have set up safety outlines as well as our very own website so be sure to check that out if you want to know more background information about our project. We finally received the key to the lab so now we can spend more time working on the flight simulator. Our outstanding human interface lead, Mathew Gutierrez, has been working hard this week and have successfully manage to link Oculus Rift with Simtools. Here is a link to a YouTube video of the two working together. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tw8hI8600No&feature=youtu.be Next week we plan on working on the coding of the flight simulator. Specifically, we will try to send game data from Simtools to the Arduino and receive the exact pneumatic position from Arduino to an LCD display. We are thinking of doing research to see if anyone has done it or looking up the ardsim.h library and analyze how it draws out game data. We have our fall design review on Friday, December 2 at 2 to 4pm so come out and talk to us! We love to show you in person what we have right now.
If you have any questions, suggestions, or want to donate, please contact me at ethanp@uci.edu Thanks for reading and happy building!
