Physics dictates that a change in pressure can produce a change in volume in a material with a low elastic modulus, such as a balloon. These volumetric changes can be harnessed in order to produce a controlled motion. We use these controlled motions in order to replicate and enhance muscle movement in the finger for the purpose of rehabilitation.
Our team’s main goal is to develop a finger-like prosthetic sleeve that aids in and/or restore finger motion.
