For this week, we do some more research about the theory behind the physical mechanism of the hand device. We found out that the natural frequency of human hand is around 1 Hz, so the objective of the torsional springs’ frequency would be around that 1 Hz. However, because of frictions and torque lengths, it would change our expected frequency. It turns out that choosing the right spring’s torque would be the main part of the mechanism, and we are purchasing a few springs with different torques to test. In the meantime, we also focus on dealing with manufacturers about how to purchase 3-D printed components with them and on getting the professor’s permission on purchasing components.
By the way, we will expect to finish the poster this weekend.
