Wrist Exo Week 4 Blog

xinyif 2016-2017 Wrist Exoskeleton

In this week, we kept doing research on the Wrist Exo project. Based on previous meeting with Doctor Terry Wang and Professor David Reinkensmeyer, we gradually determine the direction of research and project. We made up a patient/doctor survey so that it will be easier for us to know the user’s’ needs, requirements and expectations. What is more, we established opportunities to add values. Professor excepted us to improve the previous year’s design, but the previous model is not effective enough to stretch user’s wrist and the printing is to rough to wear. In order to improve this, we decided to stretch the fingers with some ring shapes as well as the wrist part. Connecting some compression springs with the ring shapes so that users can adjust the angles to a comfortable angle. What is more, we are considering to come up with some stopper either twist it or hook it to help users to stretch their fingers for enough time. We hope we could make these ideas come true in the following weeks. We also created a timeline and a powerpoint for the coming SDP Peer Review.
