Renew 3D Print Winter Wk 7: Time to present!

ddelosan 2016-2017 Renew 3D Print

This week we focused entirely on the Peer Review Presentation. To focus on the presentation and to make sure the appropriate information carried over, we had to reschedule our meeting with Tucker Paris. Overall, the presentation went well and everyone seem more interested in our project. This upcoming week we are going to start working on the poster for the Winter Quarter Design Review. Since we rescheduled our meeting with Tucker Paris, the team came together and thought of a circle pattern for the handle of the grinder so the handle can be easily changed to a desired design down the line. We decided our original design will be hard to mill so instead we will have 4 set screws to hold the handle onto the grinder. We are also continuing to redesign the wheel with a better sizing and the latex idea mentioned last week did not go well. The hydrolysis team is on a hold until a new scale comes into the lab and the team is going to start running tests on the weight and begin the experiments. The hydrolysis team is also waiting for the pelletizer to come in and decided that the 3D printed part needs to be reprinted because of a poor print. On a last note, the team had a meeting with Associated Students University of California, Irvine’s (ASUCI) The Green Initiative Fund (TGIF) to discuss how our project can benefit the overall campus. The meeting was very successful because the team received more funding to help pay of new equipment.
