Remember that song? I remember it. I forget the rest of the lyrics (I could Google it, but where is the fun in that?).

Approximately a month ago we receive a couple of solar panels from one of the professors in charge of our research project. We’ve decided, in addition to the bikes, we want to integrate this energy source.

A good friend of ours from Solar Decathlon, named Moritz (who also helped us on our setup for the Newport boat parade) has helped us decide on how we will implement these solar panels into our cart. However, they operate on a higher voltage than the rest of our design so we are working to design around it. This implementation is another exciting learning experience for us. In one of my Mechanical classes we learned about how solar panels operate and the power output so I’m excited to be able to use them. Hopefully we do it right!
