Blog Week 7

Hieu Nguyen 2016-2017 Wrist Exoskeleton

We have finished the application for UROP. This week we decide to make 3 linkages steel or aluminum. We go to a machine shop and they ask for a 2D measurements of the three parts we want to make. For one simple linkage, we make it by ourself. The other two we convert CAD files into drawing files. We also plan to purchase a few springs for testings based on deflection angle, material (Music Wire or Stainless Steel), outer diameter, and torque. The springs must not have too strong or too weak torque that make inappropriate forces. In addition, we also fill out the forms to purchase springs and padding materials, and send it to Prof. Reinkensmeyer to get approval as UCI MAE Project required
