This week we work on choosing the right spring, how to make/change metal handle, and how much to adjust the location of the spring holder. For the spring, we are going to choose torsion springs based on the Torque, Spring Diameter, and Wire Diameter. We will purchase a several springs with different measurements to make sure have the best fit one for the hand device. For the metal handle, we are trying to find the manufacturer and estimate the cost of making one. We may shorten the length of the metal handle if we may see it works out. In addition, we also will work on changing the CAD files since we have received the files from the graduate student. We will change the diameter of the hole that hold the spring. Our team also will adjust the slot that hold the spring too.
While completing these tasks, our team will finish the application for UROP, the team project’s website, and safety plan this weekend. Also, one more problem come up about the padding that in contact with patients’ skin, we are debating on which material is the best for comfort.
