On Sunday 1/22 we were able to perform our first antenna deployment test. Testing had to be conducted using a makeshift cardboard box due to being unable to 3D print the CubeSat frame. Nevertheless, the test was a success as the antenna was able to deploy and transmit wirelessly the data sent from the smartphone. The testing setup went through a near complete launch sequence in order to test our preliminary code and prototype component integration. A video of the test can be found in the link below.

We were also just offered a sponsorship from ANSYS in order to help us with the antenna efficiency analysis in HFSS. We are extremely excited at ANSYS’s generous offer as it will provide us much needed information about the performance of our tape measure antenna. Their support is greatly appreciated and we hope to work with them in the near future.
