AFRL week 5

kwilllia 2016-2017 AFRL Thermal Orientation Test Bed

This week the team continued to move closer to testing as some modifications were made to the frame of the assembly so that it would avoid interference with our motor and some of the mounts. Before testing starts, manufacturing will just have to finalize the motor mount design to put up the motor. Other than that, manufacturing will be in a holding pattern before testing begins and will be able looking for other ways to help the controls team. On the controls side of things, progress was made on the research of llimit switches and options were proposed for our different options. With the accuracy that we want to achieve, eventually we will need a very precise sensor, but for now something to get us through testing will be suitable for the job. we also will need something that is vaccum compatible as eventually the assembly will be vaccuum sealed. Once controls finishes up testing will ensue and we can make more permanent modificaitons to the test frame.
