Background
Design/Build/Fly is an annual competition hosted by Cessna, Raytheon, and the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics. The competition challenges teams to design, manufacture and optimize an aircraft to meet certain competition requirements.
Goal and Objectives
The DBF team has three main goals:

1. Perform well and place as a top 3 team in the competition

2. Develop the leadership, design, and manufacturing skills of team members

3. Create a project experiencing that is enriching, collaborative and meaningful

Design/Build/Fly is a competition that allows our team to develop professionally and personally with people who share the same passion for engineering aircraft.

The competition also affords us the opportunity to represent MAE at UCI and UCI as a whole.

    The UC Irvine Design/Build/Fly team is a senior design project which designs, manufactures, and competes electric remote-control airplanes in the annual international Design/Build/Fly competition, allowing students to validate analytic studies through practical application and gain real-world aircraft design experience.
