| 1 | Project Definition | An overview of your project scope and deliverables. Identify the roles and responsibilities of your project team and the project resources – time, money, and human resources |
| 2 | Project Specification | A specification describing the details of the end product/research requirements. What are the functional and performance requirements, user requirements, maintenance requirements, and standards requirements? What are the assumptions, constraints, and dependencies if any? |
| 3 | Timeline | An initial layout of the project’s timeline with key milestones |
| 4 | Work Breakdown Structure | Subsystem breakdown each with work breakdown structure translated into tasks |
| 5 | Task Tracking | A method for tracking and getting tasks completed |
| 6 | Budget | A cost estimation for the project, the available funds the team has on hand, and the potential funds to be raised |
