Peer reviews promote active learning, formative assessment, healthy competition, and community building. This exercise requires the teams to share responsibility for their learning and improvements to their projects. The critiques provide feedback from alternate perspectives allowing opportunities for growth. The students work harder to create a polished presentation knowing the audience is their peers. The results can help build a sense of shared purposes, generate positive interactions between students, and foster trust among all who are participating in the senior design experience.
