The aerial wind turbine power team has designed a simple circuit, which includes a switch, a voltage regulator, a generator, a breadboard, and a pack of batteries. Through manual testing we were able to see that circuit design works and that the light bulb will light up.
Week 9 Aerial Wind Turbine Update
We were able to make the wing frame by laser cutting the airfoil spars from plywood. The hard part was matching the dimensions of the front spar to the I-beam we made, so we had to re-dimension the design to match. Once we did that we attached all the pieces together and the wing frame was finished.
Week 2 and 3 – The balloons and wing frame update
For these past few weeks the structural team has begun to place the finishing touch on the design of the interior frame. The importance of these last two weeks was to optimize the structural integrity of frame such that it is as light as possible while also being as sturdy and as strong as possible. They have also begun to …
Manufacturing Airfoil Sections
This week we were able to manufacture an airfoil section, the section was made from plywood and was cut to one fourth scale. The purpose of this was to to get an idea of how we will begin to manufacture our parts but also to see our hard work in real life.
