Week 7 Spring – Project X

snmoreno 2016-2017 Integrated Pet Feeder for Health and Wellness

The controls subsystem has made great progress this week, the supplement page has been re-visualized and resize to include a next button and reset button. The next button concludes the selection of one or more than one supplement. A reset button, clears the page selection in case a wrong selection in the supplement page was made. We have also included a visible reset button on the main screen that will aid in restarting the procedure to register a pet in case of a mistake or changes need to be made. The screen can trigger the rotation of the motor once the pet information has been saved. We no longer have only pre-existing set ups we are able to have a manual input and have a respond out. A prototype for the cartridge has been designed, manufactured and tested for functionality. We did not see any leaks and functions just as our syringe cartridge. What makes this prototype different from our previous cartridge, as mentioned before, is the one-way valve at the nozzle, to prevent air contact with the substance inside the cartridge. We will use this cartridge for further testing. With the solenoid, we can dispense accurate within 10% error after the 16-15 ml line on the prototype cartridge. The inaccuracy at in the first couple ml we believe is due to the adapter being too close to the inner piston causing air to be concentrated in one area and pressurizing the cartridge unevenly. When the piston is far enough from the adapter we no longer have the inconsistency issue therefore we will modify our adapter this coming week. A 2-dimensional laminate has been ordered to be water jetted so that we can put together a nicer exterior that looks a lot more like out CAD drawing for out final prototype.
