After returning from winter break, the Solar Tracking Team has reconvened to start developing the first prototype of the quarter. 3 new teams were created: Electrical/Sensor team, Manufacturing team, and the Programming team. In the electrical/sensor team are Ryan Carter and Kashif Laurie, in the manufacturing team are Carlos Ayala, Matt Tseng, and Devin Frerichs, and in the programming team are Brian Jung and Christopher Rocha. By clearly designating each of the 7 members into a specific team, tasks will be completed more efficiently .

The team has ordered a new solar sensor to test in order to save time on manufacturing a solar sensor themselves. Since the other two teams cannot start working unless there is a physical form of the prototype, they have started the making of the prototype body. They are expected to finish attaching both motors by January 15th and then the other two teams will start working on the circuitry and the programming.
