The stepper motor requires 12 Volts and 2 Amps, therefore it is critical that the power supply can output the 12V and 2Amp to avoid the motor drive from overheating. The adequate resistor is not yet found to regulate the amperage, but it is being worked on. No changes to subsystem 3 or Subsystem 4 in term of design or set up. For subsystem 2 there was a few changes. Due to the air leaking from the top adapter we have replace the previous adapter with an easier to remove and better fitting adapter. The adapter before, consisted of the syringe rubber piston with a plastic 6mm tubing inserted through the piston, to seal the piston and tubing it was glued around. This new adapter is designed for barrel cartridges. It is easier to remove the cartridge and replace it without worrying that that seal will break. It wasn’t a perfect fit at first; therefore we made some adjustment to the adapter such as adding layers of Teflon lining to slightly increase the diameter of the adapting piece that is inserted into the cartridge, and manufactured provided O-ring were replaced by O-ring with a slightly larger diameter to ensure a seal between the adapter and the syringe. This modification improved the data collected, there was more consistency with the dispensing of both one and two mL of water.
