As a new member of the UAV Forge project, I was greeted by an air of excitement and focus during our Week 2 meeting at the Donald Bren Hall. Each team has begun preparing to bring their ideas to life, from training the Fabrication members, drawing up concepts of the plane’s frame in Mechanical Design, and testing the programming code in Avionics.

This year’s project involves integrating an obstacle sensor system and a user-friendly program, Ground Station, to guide the Tiltrotor Dev-D “Hammer” during its missions. It will take a lot of hard work and brain power to get this plane off the ground but with the new turn out of members, anything is possible.

I am a member of the Mechanical Design team and the new Documentary Manager for UAV Forge.
