Greywater Recycling Weeks 10+Finals

The group worked hard to get a lot done during week 10 and finals week. First and foremost, we had the fall design review. Our poster was well organized and easy on the eyes, and we were able to talk to a few people about our project. Overall, the event went pretty smoothly.
Around the same time, we hammered out a lot of details we hadn’t decided on yet. The size of the filter media, the size of the filtration bins, the layout and amount of PVC piping, and more. We modeled all the parts of the prototype in Solidworks and formulated a Bill of Materials based on what we estimated that we’d need.
After the presentation and the bill of materials, we had to finish up the Project Definition and Project Specifications documents. In these documents, we discussed each of the subsystems of our concept in greater depth. These documents included our bill of materials, CAD models, and descriptions of concepts. Once these were ready to submit during finals week, we were officially done with the quarter (other than this blog update!).
We had a late start this quarter, meeting together for the first time at the end of week 4. But we managed to get a system designed and a bill of materials set up. Next quarter we will work hard to order the materials and get a prototype.
