Greywater Recycling Week 9 Blog

The end of the quarter is nearing! This week, the final draft of our posters for the fall quarter design review was due. Most of the poster was completed during week 8, but we had a few outstanding corrections to make before it was ready to submit.
The big tasks for the end of the quarter are to complete the project definition and project specification documents. This includes completing the bill of materials. Before any of these documents can be completed, we need to make final decisions on our design. And before we can make final decisions on our design, we still have some research/brainstorming/discussing to do. Before we meet in week 10, we have each taken on subtasks to look into and prepare ideas to discuss. The specifics of which plants we will use in our filters, the size of the other filter media, the specific implementations and dimensions of the design in a backyard, and the water quality requirements are the big things that we are going to look further into. The goal in all of our minds is to set ourselves up for ordering parts and building a prototype when the winter quarter begins.
We still have quite a bit of work to do during the upcoming two weeks but we’re ready to apply ourselves and work hard to achieve our goals!
