It’s been very busy lately as we purchased a jet ski to convert it to main hull of our boat. We got a great deal on Craigslist and we have stripped down all the unnecessary parts. This required the team to separate the top part of the jet ski from the bottom part so we could begin prepping the interiors of the hull for installation of the diesel engine we just purchased.

It is now week 8 here at UCI and we have a diesel engine coming in the mail. We hope for it to be here by the end of this week. Once we receive it, we’re going to be conducting fuel consumption and engine performance tests to see what needs to be done in order to tune the engine to our desired performance specifications. This quarter’s focus will be mainly on the physical construction of the main components of the boat while next quarter will be tasked with implementing various control systems.
